Last Rites Held For Mrs. Westberry - February 17, 1948 Funeral
services were conducted for Mrs. Lila Westberry, who was said
to be more than 100 years old, Tuesday afternoon at 2 oclock
at Piney Grove Methodist Church by Rev. James Bacon. Rinehart
Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements. She was a native
of Toombs County, but had lived in Wayne County for many years.
Mrs. Westberry is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Sally Bell, and
four grandchildren.

R. L. Westberry Dies At Home. Funeral services were conducted
Tuesday afternoon at 3 oclock for Robert Lee (Bob) Westberry
who died Sunday night January 03, 1949 at his home after an extended
illness. Services were held at Red Hill Baptist Church with Rev.
John R. Graham officiating. Harrison Funeral Home had charge
of the arrangements. Mr. Westberry was the son of the late Sim
and Leacy Westberry, both of Jesup and is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Katie Westberry; two daughters, Mrs. Lester Teston and Mrs.
Ira Edenfield and one son, Luther C. Westberry, all of Jesup.
Active pallbearers were Robert Westberry, Robert Poole, Ollen
Stewart, Ottis Nunn, Benny Waters and Alfred Strickland.

Eastport, passed away at her home Friday morning July 06, 1951
after a long illness. She was a native of Jesup, Ga., and moved
to Jacksonville 13 years ago. She is survived by her husband,
Frank Westberry, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Dent; four daughters,
Mrs. Louise Dorsey, W. Va., Mrs. Willodean Kehs, Jacksonville,
and Miss Louis and Miss Frankie Mae Westerrry, Jacksonville; three
sisters, Mrs. C. B. Snow, Jacksonville, Mrs. Harry Wareing, Great
Lakes, Ill. and Mrs. Artis Knight, Brunswick, Ga.; two brothers,
Sidney Dent, Brunswick, and Joe E. Dent, Jacksonville; four grandchildren,
Misses Pamela Jane and Linda Gale Kehs, James Carl Dorsey, Jr.
and Michael Dean, Frank Dorsey. Funeral services will be held
Sunday morning at 9:30 A.M. in her home, with the Rev. (?) Garrett,
pastor of Jehovahs Witnesses, officiating. Pallbearers

Cemetery, near Odum, Ga. Mrs. Westberrys body will rest

L. Westberry of Rt. 9, Box 402, will be held today in Key-McCabe
Funeral Chapel at 4 p.m. with the Rev. R. J. Johnson, pastor of
Highland Baptist Church officiating. Active pallbearers will
be David Berrier, Grant Devereaux, E. E. Martin, J. L. Dees, Wilton
Devereaux and Dan Richardson; honorary , John Richardson, James
Johnson, Mitchell Rudd, Shelton Morris, Elmore Stroud and Henry
Mangum. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Mr. Westberry
died Thursday in a local hospital after a short illness. He was
from Wayne County, Georgia, moving to Jacksonville 36 years ago
from Jesup, Ga. He was employed in the O & R department at
the Naval Air Station. Mr. Westberry was a member of the Methodist
Church. Survivors include his widow, Margaret, and three daughters,
Mrs. C. B. McGuire and Mrs. Manuel Gonzalez and Miss Virginia
Westberry; two sons, R. O. and C. O. Westberry, all of Jacksonville;
two sisters, Mrs. Other John and Mrs. Mitchell Rudd, both of Reidsville,
Ga.; three brothers, Dewey of Oceanway and Lawton and Leon Westberry

WESTBERRY- Frank Westberry, 62, of 3655 Brentwood Ave., died Monday
morning December 06, 1954 at his home following a brief illness.
A native of Wayne County, Ga., he came to Jacksonville 18 years
ago from Brunswick, Ga. He was employed by the Fruit Growers
Express as a car repairman. He is survived by four daughters,
Mrs. Louise Dorsey of Chesapeake, W. Va., Mrs. Willie Jean Kehs
and Miss Lucille Westberry of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Philip Ditrapani
of Detroit, Mich., a sister, Mrs. George Andrews of Ludowici,
Ga.; two brothers, Babe Westberry of Surrency, Ga., and Sim Westberry
of Ludowici and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Friendship Church near Odum, Ga. Interment
will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are
under the direction of Key-McCabe Funeral Home.

Sim Westberry Of Long County, Buried On Sunday. Sim Westberry,
age 72, passed away late Friday afternoon, December 12, 1958 following
an extended illness. He was a native of Appling County, but had
lived in Long County, since 1939. Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Jincy Teston Westberry of Ludowici; four daughters, Mrs.
Narvel D. Davenport of Ft. Jackson, S.C., Mrs. H. T. Wiggins of
Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Willie Roberson and Mrs. Naomi Pate, both
of Ludowici; eight sons, Albert Westberry of Ft. Bragg, N.C.,
Lankford Westberry of Ft. Benning, George W. Westberry of Clay,
Eugene and Mack Westberry of Ludowici, Theo and Gordon Westberry
of Hunter Air Force Base and Alvin Westberry of Ludowici; one
sister, Mrs. Annie Anderson of Baxley; one brother, Babe Westberry
of St. Simons, 20 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral
services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the First
Baptist Church of Ludowici with Rev. D. P. Wilcox and Rev. Henry
Hodges officiating. Interment was in the Friendship Cemetery

Infant Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Westberry Buried On Sunday. Randy
Carlton Westberry, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Judge Westberry,
died early Sunday morning in the Wayne Memorial Hospital. Graveside
services were held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Jesup Cemetery with
the Rev. Floyd T. Jenkins and the Rev. Wendell Madray officiating.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Keith, Jesup; paternal grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Burl Westberry, Jesup; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. Keith of Jesup; paternal great-grandmothers, Mrs. Rader

Waitress Killed In Plunge of Car - A 34-year old waitress was
killed yesterday morning when her automobile hurtled about 100
feet through the air and crashed into a tree after leaving the
Trout River Bridge on Main Street. Mrs. Louise H. Westberry of
1680 Stafford Rd. was dead on arrival at Duval Medical Center
at 6:15 a.m. Mrs. Westberrys death brought to eight the
number of fatalities in the city this year and to 28 the total
number of fatalities in the city and county. She was also the
third person to die on the Trout River Bridge this year. City
Patrolmen J. B. Gladden and E. W. Holt said Mrs. Westberry was
traveling south on the bridge at a speed of approximately 55 m.p.h.
when her car jumped the center dividing island and traveled 100
feet through the air before the top of the vehicle slammed into
a tree of the east side of Main Street near the south end of the
bridge, about 5:55 a.m. Officers said Mrs. Westberrys husband,
Charles O. Westberry, was following her car in another vehicle
at the time of the accident. Mrs. Westberry was a native of Scarboro,
Maine, and had lived in Jacksonville since 1936. She was a member
of Berea Baptist Church. Survivors, in addition to her husband,
include her mother, Mrs. Mildred Henry; a daughter, Miss Elizabeth
L. Westberry; two sons, Charles O. and Lester A. Westberry; and
two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Kirkland and Mrs. Marjorie Lord, all
of Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow
in the Berea Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. R. D. Ingle,
officiating. Interment will be in the Edgewood Cemetery.

will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Berea Baptist Church, Ninth

died Sunday morning from injuries received in an auto accident.
She was born in Scarboro, Maine, and had lived in Jacksonville

Henry; a daughter, Miss Elizabeth L. Westberry; two sons, Charles

Mother, Mrs. N. J. Edenfield Buried On Friday. Funeral services
for Mrs. Mary Blanton Sealey, 74, were held at Memorial Gardens
Cemetery, in Lakeland, Fla., Friday, July 15 at 2 p.m. She passed
away suddenly at her home in Lakeland, where she has resided since
leaving Wayne County in 1945. She is survived by her husband,
H. S. Sealey, of Lakeland, one brother, Sidney Blanton of Jesup;
three daughters, Mrs. Carl Grooms and Mrs. Joe Sutton, both of
Lakeland, and Mrs. N. J. Edenfield of Jesup; two sons, Cecil and
Burl Westberry, both of Jesup.

Mrs. Westberry Buried Tuesday. Mrs. Ronnie Westberry, 91, died
early Monday morning July 17, 1967 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital
after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Robert Lee
Westberry of Wayne County. She is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Ira Edenfield of Doctortown and Mrs. Inell Teston of Jesup;
one son, Luther Westberry of Jesup; 10 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. from the
Red Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. J. T. Fann officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were

died at home Saturday March 09, 1968. Mr. Westberry was born

Mrs. Leona "Tiny" Westberry Adams, 56, died Thursday
May 05, 1970 in Holly Hill, Florida. The Wayne County native
had lived in Ormond Beach, Florida for several years. Survivors
are her husband, O. C. Adams of Ormond Beach; a son, Danny Randle
of Ormond Beach; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Westberry of Odum;
two sisters, Mrs. B. L. Hires and Mrs. Estelle Moreland both of
Odum; three brothers, Lankford Westberry and Willie Westberry
both of Jesup, and Lee Westberry of Jacksonville, Florida; four
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services
were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Holly Hill, Florida.

Barnard L. Hires, 65, died Friday afternoon April 28, 1972 in
the Rest-Awhile Nursing Home after an extended illness. The lifelong
resident of Wayne County was a member of the Odum Baptist Church,
a retired truck driver, a member of the Governors Staff and a
former member of the Welfare Board. Funeral services were held
at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Odum Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe
Boyette and the Rev. Don Green officiating. Mr. Hires is survived
by his wife Mrs. Sadie Westberry Hires of Odum; a daughter, Mrs.
Helen Geiger of Hawkinsville; a sister, Mrs. Richard Madray of
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two brothers, O. S. Hires of Darien and
D. L. Hires of Lake Okeechobee, Florida; two half sisters, Mrs.

Linda Kaye Westberry, 4, died Wednesday in the Georgia Baptist
Hospital in Atlanta after a long illness. She had been dedicated
in the Jesup Church of God. Funeral services were held at 11:00
a.m. Saturday at the Jesup Church of God with the Rev. Alvin Graham
and the Rev. Dewey F. Miller officiating. Survivors are her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Westberry of Jesup; two sisters, Glenda Faye
Westberry and Charlotte Renee Westberry, both of Jesup; maternal
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hires of Lyons; paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Willie Westberry of Jesup; paternal great-grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Dan Westberry of Odum, and Mrs. Bertie Johnson of

Mrs. Mary Ann Westberry, 69, died Sunday July 29, 1973 in
the Wayne Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Tattnall
County native had lived in Jesup for 65 years and was a member
of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday in the New Hope Freewill
Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Livesay officiating.
Mrs. Westberry is survived by her husband, Luther C. Westberry
of Jesup, two daughters, Mrs. Loretta McCall of Brunswick and
Mrs. Laotha Riendeau of Jesup; a sister, Mrs. Susie Thompson of
Tampa; a brother, J. Kellis Edenfield of Savannah and eight grandchildren.
Pall bearers were L. C. Teston, Bobby Blanton, Leslie Westberry,
Jimmy Davis, Robert Mason and Lonnie Blanton.
Burial was in the Church Cemetery under the direction of the NeSmith-Harrison
Funeral Home.
Nathaniel Lester Teston, 76, of Rt. 4, Jesup, died Thursday,
Jan. 4, 1979, at his residence after a short illness. The Wayne
County native was a retired timber worker.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Maudie Westberry Teston of Jesup;
three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Johns and Mrs. Pearl Harrison, both
of Jesup, and Mrs. Eunice Narramore of Jasper, Alabama; two sons,
L. C. Teston of Jesup and W. E. Teston of Augusta; two sisters,
Mrs. Lillie Warren and Mrs. Mary Harrison, both of Jesup; 19 grandchildren
and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, from the Red Hill
Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Chavis and Rev. Doyle Deal officiating.
Internment was in the Church Cemetery. Rhinehart and sons Funeral
Home was in charge. Active pallbearers were grandsons: Wade Teston,
Douglas Teston, Michael Teston, Jeff Teston, Herman Teston and
Tony Johns.
Luther Columbus Westberry, 77, of Jesup, died Tuesday, May
22, 1979 at the Wayne Memorial Hospital as the result of an automobile
accident. The Wayne County native was a member of the New Hope
Freewill Baptist Church.
Mr. Westberry is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Loretta McCall
of Brunswick and Mrs. Laotha Riendeau of Jesup; two sisters, Mrs.
Maudie Teston and Mrs. Lutitia Edenfield, both of Jesup; eight
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:a.m., Friday, May 25, at the New Hope
Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Livesay officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Danny McCall, Tony McCall, Mike Riendeau,
W. E. Teston, L. C. Teston and Jimmy Davis.
Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of

WESTBERRY- Ranell Orbon Westberry, 66, a native of Jesup, Ga.,
and a 60 year resident of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, August 20,
1985 in a local hospital. He was a member and Deacon of the St.
John Park Baptist Church, a WWII Navy Veteran, and had retired
from St. Regis Paper Company. Survivors include his wife, Ida
Westberry; sons, Glenn, of Asheville, N.C. and Dallan (Dale) and
Rannel, Jacksonville; sisters, Verna Baker, Margaret Gonzalez
and Virginia Dorsey; brother, Charles Odis Westberry; and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at St. John Park
Baptist church, with Dr. Vernon F. Johns, officiating. Interment
will be in Jacksonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive

passed away Oct. 29, 1996, were conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.
29 from the Crossville Memorial Chapel with interment at Myrtle
Hill Cemetery, Tampa, Fla. Rev. Roland Smith officiated.
Mrs. Johnson was born Nov. 12, 1937 in Tampa, Fla. She was a retired
school teacher and a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Johnson of Crossville;

Funeral services for James C. Westberry, 86, of Crossville, and
formerly of Tampa, Fla., who passed away June 15, 1997, will be
held at 11 a.m., June 19, at the East Chelsea Baptist Church in
Tampa, Fla., with burial in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Tampa,
Fla.
He was born Dec. 10, 1910 in Vidalia, Ga., the son of George W.
and Daisy New Westberry. Mr. Westberry was a retired machinist,
having spent 50 years with the Atlantic Coast Railroad. He was
a member of the East Chelsea Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mertice Westberry of Crossville; daughter,
Virginia Freeman of Crossville; son-in-law, Lawrence Johnson of
Crossville; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three
great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Dorothy
Johnson. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

JESUP -- William Grover "Bud" Moreland, 78, died
Aug. 24, 1998 at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Wayne County and was a longtime resident of Miami.
He retired from Batch Air Inc. of Miami as a test cell operator
and was an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Estelle Westberry Moreland of Jesup; a daughter,
Vicki Landon of Jesup; a son, Ben Moreland of Cooper City, Fla.;
a sister, Naomi Trout of Hawthorne, Fla.; five brothers, Ernest
Moreland of Colonels Island, Harold Moreland of Richmond, Va.,
Albert Moreland of Glenwood, Fla., Billy Moreland of Clearwater,
Fla., and Earl M. Moreland of Gainesville, Fla.; three grandchildren,
a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
*JoAnn Westberry, 63, died March 3, 1999 at Southeast Georgia
Regional Medical Center. She lived in Glynn County 40 years and
was a member of Pine Haven Baptist Church. SURVIVORS: her husband,
Dewey L. Westberry of Brunswick; two daughters, Pam Humphrey and
Sonja Pope, both of Brunswick; a brother, F.C. McNabb of West
Green; two sisters, Kellah Spivey and Mary Helen, both of Douglas;

LUDOWICI -- Edith Westberry Roberson, 74, died April 3, 1999
at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Wayne County and lived in Long County most
of her life. She was a member of Ludowici First Baptist Church,
Berean Sunday School Class and the Order of the Eastern Star and
a past Worthy Matron of Ludowici Chapter No. 140, O.E.S.
SURVIVORS: her husband, W. Arthur Roberson of Ludowici; two daughters
and sons-in-law, Wanda and Gary Swindell and Georgina and Allan
Grippe, all of Ludowici; a son, Charles Roberson of Brunswick;
three sisters, Naomi Parker and Josie Wiggins, both of Ludowici,
and Amber DeLoach of Marianna, Fla.; four brothers, Gordon Westberry
of Brunswick, Alvin Westberry of Richmond, Va., A.W. Westberry
of Oglethorpe and Eugene Westberry of LaGrange; nine grandchildren,
two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
VIDALIA -- Knighten Wesberry, 79, died July 19, 1999 at Fairview
Park Hospital in Dublin.
He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, a retired logger
and a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Jessie Mae Wesberry of Vidalia; a stepson,
Jerry Vaughn of Vidalia; four stepdaughters, Brenda Burke, Darlene
Willis and Dianne Vaughn, all of Vidalia, and Maxine Massey of
Soperton; a brother, Rabon Wesberry of Lyons; and a sister, Martha
Simmons of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Thomas "Tommy" Westberry, 51, of Roberta died Tuesday,
August 10, 1999.
Born in Darmstadt, Germany, he had lived in Crawford County most
of his life.
He worked at Charley's Auto and was a member of Walker's Chapel
Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Moncrief Westberry; children,
Chris M. Westberry and Lisa L. Westberry, all of Roberta; father,
George Westberry of Oglethorpe, and sisters and brothers, Mary
Alice Land, Charles Westberry, George "Buck" Westberry
and James Westberry, all of Roberta.
Services were held Thursday, August 12, 1999 in Walker's Chapel
Methodist Church with burial in Roberta City Cemetery.

BRUNSWICK -- Dewey Lee Westberry, 67, died Sept. 17, 1999
at home.
He was a native of Reidsville and a former resident of Jacksonville,
Fla. He was an Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict.
He lived in Brunswick the past 33 and retired from Georgia-Pacific
Gypsum Plant in 1994 with 28 years of service. He was a member
of Pine Haven Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: two daughters, Pam Humphrey of Brunswick and Sonja
Pope of Guyton; four sisters, Hilda French of Dublin, Lucille
Chaney of Whiteoak, Willamae Tomlinson and Laverne Cook, both
of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
Willie Arthur Roberson, 78, died Feb. 9, 2000 at home. The Long
County native was a retired civil service employee. He was a Past
Worshipful Master of Long County Masonic Lodge No. 227, F&AM,
and an Army veteran of World War II. SURVIVORS: two daughters
and sons-in-law, Wanda and Gary Swindell and Georgina and Allan
Grippe, all of Ludowici; a son, Charles Roberson of Brunswick;
a sister, Ruth Dunham of Ludowici; a brother, Lewis Roberson of

CYPRESS, Fla. -- Claudia Mae Davenport died March 19, 2000 at
Jackson Hospital in Marianna.
The former resident of Ludowici, Ga., lived in Cypress for 15
years. She was a member of Cypress Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: two son and daughter-in-law, Larry William and Janice
Southwell of Marianna; a daughter and son-in-law, Ernestine and
Bill Tindel of Marianna; two sisters, Josie Wiggins and Naomi
Parker, both of Ludowici; four brothers, G.W. Westberry of Andersonville,
Ga., Gene Westberry of Pine Mountain, Ga., Gordon Westberry of
Ludowici and Alvin Westberry of Virginia; seven grandchildren,
nine great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and several
nieces and nephews.
VIDALIA - Mrs. Pearlie Mae Westberry, 83, died Oct. 21, 2000
at Meadows Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Telfair County and resided in Toombs County
most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion
Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: a son, Jessie Westberry of Vidalia; a daughter, Bertie
Hannah of Alexandria, La.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren,
two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. today at Sand Hill Baptist Church, McRae, burial
in the church cemetery.
George Washington Westberry, 76, of Oglethorpe died Tuesday,
April 2, 2002. Born in Long County, he was the son of the late
Sim Westberry and Jency Teston Westberry. He was a retired bridge
building superintendent for Burtz-Durham Construction Company.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ludowici and was
Past Master Mason at the Ludowici F&AM Lodge. He was preceded
in death by his wife, Alice Hansmann Westberry, and his son, Tommy
Westberry. Survivors include his wife, Lenora Westberry of Oglethorpe;
children and their spouses, Charles and Elaine Westberry, George
and Debra Westberry, James Westberry, and Mary Alice and Steve
Land, all of Roberta, Lenora Storm, Judy and Ricky Williams, all
of Oglethorpe; brothers, Gene Westberry, of LaGrange, Alvin Westberry
and Gordon Westberry, both of Ludowici; sisters, Josie Wiggins
and Naomi Parker, both of Ludowici; 11 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. Services were held Friday, April 5, 2002
at the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, with
burial with military honors in Roberta City Cemetery in Roberta.

Pauline Elliott Martin, 68, of Jesup, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003,
after a short illness. The Wayne County native was a member of
the Jesup First Freewill Baptist Church, was retired from the
Wayne County School System and was a homemaker. Survivors are
her husband, Eldridge C. Martin of Jesup; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Judy and Jimmy Thompson and Shirley and Wally Hall, all of Jesup;
her mother, Alma Hires Westberry of Jesup; two sisters, Mary Ellen
Cooksey of Jesup and Audrey Faye Beaver of Mableton; three brothers,
Winton L. Westberry, Sr. of Jesup, Larry Westberry of Odum and
Kenneth Westberry of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jason
Sikes, Kayla Hall, Jeremy Thompson and Jared Thompson; two great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. from the Rinehart and Sons Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Evors and the Rev. Walter Shuman
officiating. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery.

Essie Othell Johnson Westberry, 87, died April 28, 2003, in
Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jesup. The life-long
resident of Wayne County was a member of Odum Church of God and
the Adult Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Willie Westberry. She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Carolyn and L.C. Taylor of Valdosta; four sons and
three daughters-in-law, Fred and Betty Westberry, Wayne and Mattie
Westberry, Donald and Sandra Westberry and Glenn Westberry, all
of Jesup; a sister, Ruby Henderson of Jesup; a brother, W.M. Johnson
of Jesup; a half-sister, Emily Matthews of Darlington, S.C.; 11
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;
and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Odum Church of God with the
Rev. Todd McDaniel and the Rev. Brian Hersey officiating. Active
pallbearers will be Bud Womack, Kenny Herrin, Ron Jeffcoat, Dwayne
Evors, Greg Sparks, Tim Westberry, David Westberry and Michael

2003 at Orange Park Medical Center after a long illness. Born
10/2/45 in Monticello, Ark. And raised in Watson, Ark. She moved
to Jacksonville, Fl. 23 years ago. Survivors are her husband of
20 years Dallan (Dale) Westberry; 2 step children, Don Westberry
of Jacksonville, Fl. and Lisa Kay of North Augusta, S.C.; 3 sisters,
Jo Etta Brennan of Metairie, LA, Joy Cross of White Hall, Ark.,
and Irene Novak of Jacksonville; 2 Nephews Mike Brennan and Harry

Josie Westberry Wiggins, 84, of Ludowici died Monday, Aug.
2, 2004 at her residence after an extended illness. The Wayne
County native and former resident of Norfolk, Va. had lived in
Long County the past 10 years. She was a member of Friendship
Baptist Church and the Long County Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
She was the widow of Hubert T. Wiggins. Survivors are a sister,
Naomi Parker of Ludowici; three brothers, Eugene Westberry of
LaGrange, and Benjamin Westberry and Alvin Westberry, both of
Jesup; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services
were held Aug. 4 at Baggs Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating.

Bertie Elliott Westberry, 72, of Cusseta, Ga., died Friday,
September 3, 2004, after an extended illness. The Wayne Co. Ga.,
native had lived in Cusseta since 1964 & was a homemaker.
She attended North Highland Assembly of God & was the widow
of Harold Frank Westberry. Survivors are a daughter and a son-in-law:
